I just noticed you are wearing a Quake III: Arena hat. That is awesome, you are awesome, and of course, Quake III Arena is still awesome. Going to reinstall it now.

I don't think I'll ever forget the pure joy I got out of being in the earliest public beta of that. The only map in that release was this one with a long jump over empty space with this springboard thing that propelled you from one spot to the other. There was nothing better than sitting out at the far end of it and railgunning people midair as they tried to come get you. Even if the hit didn't kill them outright, it would completely stop their forward momentum, causing them to fall into an abyss. Good times.

The juxtaposition of the Quake III: Arena hat and the prewar S&W Hand Ejector is my favorite thing about that photo.

That is some serious funny, and I hadn't seen the photo at a high enough resolution to notice the hat before. Congrats on the new gig; here's hoping it's everything you want it to be.

Congratulations! That's got to be significantly more responsibility (and hopefully pay) than my meagre editorship, if only because you have competition in the gun magazine business down there.

Here we don't have competition because A) there's no market for another gun rag, and B) in glorious socialist republic of North Mexinadia, competition is illegal.


Anyway that's great for you and better for the readership IMO.
