One thing that immediately set off my BS meter was when he said made the logical leap that the Islamic Center of Fort Pierce's affiliation with the Shariah Board of America meant that somehow they were seeking to impose Sharia'h law in the United States.
The word Shari'a means 'path' or 'way' most commonly used to refer to Islamic religious law. However, Sharia'h does not necessarily equate legal enforcement of Islamic principles; a good way to think about it would be like the term 'Kosher' (or, well, more accurately Halakah, but who's keeping track...). It's a guide on how to live your life in accordance with holy scripture.
If you don't believe me, visit the Sharia Board of America's website and see for yourself. It is basically a Q&A for religious questions about how to follow certain aspects of Shariah. My husband has psychiatric problems, what should I do? Is it permissible to attend interfaith services? Is it permissible to use Skype? etc.
Sure some of the answers are weird, but I think a lot of the things that Orthodox Jews do are pretty weird too. Nothing on the website suggests extremism or violence, and certainly nothing suggests that they have any interest in forcing non-Muslims to wear the Hijab/eat Halal etc....

Something something evil militarization of police something something lessons from Columbine something something told you so.“We just basically stayed there, waited for movement, and we just held our position until SWAT got there,” he explained. “Once SWAT got there, they told us to retreat, that they’d take over because we were not really in tactical gear — we were just in our police uniforms.”
Cornwall’s account of the early standoff with Mateen is one of three other accounts that state and federal authorities are investigating, even if top police officials believe that everyone “did a good job.”
“That’s the worst part of this. I think we did an outstanding job, but unfortunately people died,” Orlando police Captain and SWAT commander Mary Canty said. He also added that the incident will be reviewed.
