I had an RMR 06 on my rifle for a short time. This time included use in a very light drizzle. Water pooled on the emiter and bloomed the dot making it useless. That was enough "experience" for me.

Didn't you know the fastest way to get Mr RMR happy again, is to blow its emitter?

Thank you for posting this. Do you have experience with it?

Personal, no. I have seen them and never purchased due to only having rmr mounted on pistols which I do not carry (range guns/proof of concept). If I had a rmr mounted on a rifle/shotgun in a area with inclement weather I'd buy it for the simple fact it's "cheap" insurance and a expendable item. With it not being a scope coat, removing it would be fast and being translucent leaving it on would protect the diode from water/debris. Technically a win/win for under $20.

I have hunted with a comp m4s in heavy rain. I had to remove the honeycomb ard, because it held water and made it useless. It did perfectly well afterwards. I did not take a shot that day, but I surely could have if I had seen an animal.

Biggest issue I had was with the E/O Techs holding a ton of water. Was a real issue in several classes where we had weather, and also on a couple SWAT call outs with my guys. It is one of the good cases for flip covers for when they rifle is sling and not in use.
Just a Hairy Special Snowflake supply clerk with no field experience, shooting an Asymetric carbine as a Try Hard. Snarky and easily butt hurt. Favorite animal is the Cape Buffalo....likely indicative of a personality disorder.
