You can cross a barb wire fence without hooking your uniform or scratching your gear.

Chigger, tick and mosquito spray is as important as ammo.

Your better at herding cattle than directing traffic.

During your interview you were asked if you have a horse you ride.

Or, should not be a rural Texas Peace Officer if...

You respond to one car accident where a sedan hit a longhorn bull on the county road at o'dark thirty. And instead of approaching the badly injured, pissed off, laid down bull from the back, you get between his legs and put the bullet thru the rancher's truck when the bull knocks you down.

I had no idea I "needed" a BBQ gun until I saw the photos posted in this thread. I have had that experience before walking through a Cabela's/Bass Pro or looking through a magazine and see a product that I never even knew existed, but which would be perfect for me, and then "needed" it of course. The fun we could all have with unlimited funds. Oh well, I suppose I will continue to pay off my mortgage and save for my child's college tuition.

That thought aside, back to the original subject matter: You might be a rural Texas Peace Officer if . . . you have three separate pairs of black boots, all made of different animal skins.

You have to drive to the top of a hill to get radio or cell phone coverage. Them folks in the panhandle just got to get in the bed of a pickup.
