Today was Astro’s 13th birthday and we took her for a celebratory hike at a new trail near town. Pretty wooded area. Several hundred yards in on the trail, Astro pulled up on alert, and we saw a cow moose about 25 yards from us in the cover with some small ears moving. Mama and her young one. We ended up waiting about 15 minutes for them to move off.

Underwood Lehigh penetrators in 9 and .40 for the Glock pistols. 25 yard zero with the Brenneke slugs. That puts me on at 25, a bit high at 50, on at 75 and a bit low at 100.

Pretty bright out at "night". About what time was that? When we visited during mid June I thought it was cool as heck to be broad daylight so late.

Do you have a method for making sure you don’t mix up the 9 and 40 pistol magazines? I have M&Ps in both calibers and a couple times have left the house with the wrong spare mag(s) in the pouch.

Yes the .40 mags have green TD base plates.

I dont have different calibers of mags, but Ive painted the caliber marking on the lower rear of the g19 mags to help ID the loads at a glance when they are laying in a case or console, I use orange for the good stuff and white or no paint for others.

We are in Montana, and on the way to shoot a match Sunday, stopped for a hike on a pass. Even though the lower 48 has been so hot, summer hasn't fully arrived here. We hiked through snow patches until the snow was solid and knee deep, causing us to turn around. Astro enjoyed "snow balling."
