It does shield the emitter somewhat, but does nothing for the lens glass.
Yep, that - I have one or two packed up around here somewhere, I decided to try ironless first. I was under the impression the multiple dot issue was caused more by liquid on the emitter, not the window?

    I can pee outside.
    Hmmmmmm.
It looked to me like the beam emitted was being picked up by the drops.
I'm seldom correct and new to the dot stuff.

You could be right - I’m really not sure of the cause.

This summer has been as wet a summer as I remember in Alaska. On Tuesday morning, with our cabin buttoned up for the winter, we were greeted with sunshine, which was a shock. This is what it looked like on climb out.

The snow line on the mountain is very distinct.

Great view of Mount Iliamna as we headed out over Cook Inlet.

Yesterday and today had some sun -- the longest stretch of "good" weather since mid July. The colors were awesome out flying this morning.

A 940 low, with remnants of a typhoon is hitting the Alaska Peninsula and the rain should be back here by sundown.

That is funny, that picture was definitely inverted in an unusual attitude!

Really long winter in AK this year. As people have been getting out, it turns out a bear or multiple bears broke into about a dozen cabins up the lake from us. The damage is incredible, siding torn off, windows broken, every cabinet pulled off the wall.

I am pretty sure any bear seen in the area is going to get shot.
