Are solid copper hollow points superior to lead jhps, they always do well in barrier testing are they cost prohibitive for law enforcement?
The all copper bullets work very well in soft tissue, but tend to have the petals strip off when first hitting intermediate barriers, resulting in a caliber size, non-expanded, wadcutter like projectile hitting tissue--this offers deep penetration, but a smaller permanent cavity.
5.56 mm 50 gr TSX on left of dime and 70 gr TSX on right of dime--with each pair, the left bullet is in bare gel and the right projectile through auto windshield
Bonded bullets tend to stay together better after intermediate barriers, resulting in a larger permanent cavity...
