Anyone fooling w GLOCK mag AR pistols or carbines?

I'm not worried about the new action shooting rules, but for use as a farm/ranch/truck gun that shoots relatively inexpensive 9mm & .40 ammo v. Almost non-existent & expensive .22 Mag.

My stocks of .22 Mag have dwindled in the near four years since the Newtown panic.

See sales this weekend on good 9mm ball cheap as $11.99/50. When you can find proven high quality .22 WMR online its goes for $25.99/50.

.40 ball is a bit pricier, but have plenty on hand already. Even if you pull the FMJs and replace w HPs it'd be cheaper.

Several high end gun makers are producing GLOCK mag ARs for very high prices, but once Aero-precision or a like quality maker starts producing lowers, I'm thinking a 9, .40 or even .357 SIG braced pistol or carbine will hit harder and fill this niche well.

Anyone who's already running one, please share your knowledge.

A few guys I know have angstedarms and quarter circle 10 lowers that accept glock mags. A few proprietary parts but other than that it's pretty straight forward build. No issues reported from them.

Just bought a JP GMR-13 carbine, which is waiting for me in FL; will have a report in a couple of weeks.

I've got one. I used a Runner Runner branded complete lower, which is manufactured by New Frontier Arms (NFA). I got a complete upper from Palmetto State, whose branded lower is also NFA manufactured. Put it together and it shot. I had to replace the 5.4 oz CMMG 9mm buffer with a heavier 7ish oz buffer, as it was REALLY winging the cases out. I can't say it's like a regular AR in ejection, but you can no longer hear the buffer hitting the back of the tube.

Only lingering issue is there is no provision for last round bolt hold open. NFA makes an upper to fix this, but it is new and supply is limited.

Edit to add- recoil is just as, if not more prevalent as full caliber AR, likely due to blowback operation.

Because I'm curious-how does felt recoil on the JP compare to a standard AR? My 16" mutt version mentioned above is at least as lively as my issued 11.5" Commando in 5.56.

Some people said it was a lot worse, I thought it was waaaay less than a .223. This was during a COF In The match, so just standing around shooting it may be different. But it was very pleasant and very fun for me! I'm also pretty dang recoil sensitive too

I've been kicking around the idea of a Quarter Circle 10 build using Glock mags. Ive picked up a couple parts so far but it's not high on my list of projects.

Anybody have any pics of their carbine or SBR, maybe some groups?

Not sure what your exact needs are, but I personally would not want a farm / ranch long gun in a pistol caliber.
