For some individual Republicans, I tend to agree. The GOP as a collective organization is about as much for smaller government and less intrusion and the Dems. It's like police organizations and gun control. Individual officers support gun rights and law abiding citizens, however their organizations tend to lean the opposite way.

I hear tell of some larger police unions realizing that the Dems aren't their friends.
