    9mm SBR suggested ammunition

I have a 9mm AR15 type carbine (16 inch barrel) and a 9mm SIG MPX pistol with 8 inch barrel (waiting for SBR form approval). Is it suggested to use "the list" of 9mm ammo handgun ammo or do the longer barrels of 9mm SBR dictate other 9mm SD choices?

Modern law enforcement ammo, such as on Dr. Roberts' list, should still perform adequately with the additional 100 fps that might be gained by the longer 8" barrel. The terminal ballistics are likely to match the hot +P+ offerings from companies such as Underwood when fired from duty pistols. IIRC, Speer warns against using 147 gr. 9mm in 16" carbines because of the increased risk of a bullet lodging in the barrel due to the volume of gas generated by the relatively small powder charge.

Speer Gold Dot 124gr. +P from Beretta 92FS= 1251 fps
Same load from Beretta CX4 Storm 16" barrel = 1354 fps

Down the road from Quantrill's big raid.
Many bullets can be run to fast to hold together. I'd stick with something bonded, and likely in standard 124 or 147gr loadings.

The 147gr loads have a good reputation when launched from SMGs by the folks still using them.
