Was this truly an open carry fail, or an example of piss-poor concealment and bad judgement in the placement of the gun? I'm inclined to think it's the latter.
I still maintain open carry has its merits, but stupid people ruin things for everyone.

Right. If it was in his pocket, and the guy grabbed it, how was that not a pickpocket situation? Maybe he stuck it in his pocket as he got out of the car on the way into the McD's, and the goblin saw him do it, and followed him in to see if he could snag the free gun.
