The answer to this question is entirely dependent on purpose (sorry if it was stated and I missed it).

We can hate on RRA and Bushmaster all day long, but if your purpose behind the rifle is shooting a few hundred rounds per year at a static range or taking pictures to post on forums, pretty much anything will serve you well if you maintain it. My first AR was a Rock River and it has never had a single issue. Then again, I don't beat on that rifle either. Plinkers don't need to be hardcore.

If you intend to blow through thousands of rounds per year in carbine courses or if it will see HD duty, spend a little more and buy a Daniel Defense, BCM, or a Colt. DD fills that role for me.

New bolt received today, so slightly less than a week. I'm very happy with this resolution, assuming the bolt holds up.
