So I just Googled the Sidewinder.
Travels at 18 miles per hour, hides in sand until almost invisible and is a venomous pit viper.
I don't blame you for going north.

The bucket is so you can fly him/her back to Alaska, right?
That Youtube Video is pure BS. Fastest forward motion clocked for a sidewinder is 3 MPH, and that for short bursts. Sidewinding
The fastest snake on land is the Black Mamba. I believe it's been officially been documented at 12.5 mph.
I'm not sure how fast the fastest swimming snake can be, but I'd suspect less than the Black Mamba.
The fastest snake will be Chrysopelea, the flying snake. (also call gliding snake.) I don't know that a top speed has been officially clocked, but I'm sure it will beat the Black Mamba's ground record.
ETA: Chrysopela video.

Yea....flee the snakes and head to the place where there are gi-f-ing-gantic Bears.......makes total sense.
Just a Hairy Special Snowflake supply clerk with no field experience, shooting an Asymetric carbine as a Try Hard. Snarky and easily butt hurt. Favorite animal is the Cape Buffalo....likely indicative of a personality disorder.
