    Well done Todd!

"If you look at the numbers, it means that I actually get five hits in about the same amount of time whether I fire five at a strong pace or six at a crazy pace. Which makes more sense?"
Bingo! Going a bit slower, does not necessarily mean less hits...

    Target: IDPA
    Gun: Sig P220
    Holster: Comp Tac OWB
    Concealment: Fleece Vest
Warmup: 2 FAST Drills and a round of Dot Torture at 4 yds

    Total Time: 15.32 seconds
    Hits: 26/30

    1) 2.62 (Clean) - 1.65 First Shot
    2) 2.64 (-1) - 1.56 First Shot
    3) 2.50 (-1) - 1.47 First Shot
    4) 2.50 (Clean) - 1.59 First Shot
    5) 2.64 (-1) - 1.64 First Shot
    6) 2.42 (-1) - 1.47 First Shot

All of the misses were just outside of the 8" circle.

I've GOT to work the pressouts and faster pickup of the front sight. Once the gun was out and the first shot down range, I could maintain good hits at a good pace - average of .20 splits but the lag cost me overall time.

John - The drill was for 5 runs of 6 shots. If your total count was 30 rounds, you did 5 shots for 6 runs ... ??

Apparently, I'm an overachiever and fired six runs of six rounds. That would be 32/36. If I drop the last run off run it gets me:

    Total Time: 12.90
    Hits: 27/30

Just remember, there's three kinds of people in the world - those who can do math and those who can't.

I ran out to the range for a quick trip after work this afternoon and shot this one. I used an IDPA target, open carry with a Comp-tac paddle holster, and my Glock Gen 4 17. I shot it cold( both figuratively and literally as it was 38 degrees when I got to the range). I went with a mental goal of shooting it clean under 12.50 seconds. Well, I failed on both counts.

I started conservatively but clean. On the 2nd run I pushed it and dropped a couple of shots. On the 4th run I pulled another shot so I decided to slow down and really focus for the final run. I shot that run clean and it ended up being my fastest run too.

I spent the next 20 rounds working on draws. I only managed to break 1 second once (0.96). I got stuck between 1.01 and 1.11

I used this as my warm-up.

    Target: IPSC (no liners)
    Gun: 1911 w/X300
    Holster: Blade-Tech OWB
    Ammunition: Winchester RA45T/Federal P45HST2
    Concealment: Fleece Vest

    Total Time: 13.01 seconds
    Hits: 24/30

    1) 2.77 (clean)- 1.59, .25, .23, .23, .22, .25
    2) 2.63 (-2) - 1.51, .23, .23, .23, .22, .21
    3) 2.60 (-1) - 1.45, .24, .24, .22, .22, .23
    4) 2.54 (-1) - 1.47, .23, .21, .21, .21, .21
    5) 2.47 (-2) - 1.44, .21,. 21, .19, .22, .20

I have been neglecting my draws from concealment and it showed. On a positive note, later in the session I ran two repetitions of one round to the A-zone from concealment at 25-yards. Two hits; the first in 1.64, the second in 1.59. Pretty satisfied with that.
    C Class shooter.

    4, 1.48 2.49
