Recovering Gun Store Commando. My Blog: The Clue Meter
“It doesn’t matter what the problem is, the solution is always for us to give the government more money and power, while we eat less meat.”

Yes!
Years ago, after I gained enough seniority to bid a new shift I continued to bid night shift. My manager asked me about it because he was concerned I was looking for a new job. I wasn't. My response to him was "I prefer mids because there isn't anyone to micro manage me." His response? He moved me to days. I took a promotion over him a year later.
When I worked nights one of the dumbest things someone said to me was,"It must be nice to have all day off to do things".
We could isolate Russia totally from the world and maybe they could apply for membership after 2000 years.
When I was young and single I loved midnights. I’d work all night, stay up all day and sleep from 3 or 4 to 11. Sadly, I can’t do that with a family.

No, Aliens!
I'm still a bachelor so I'll work nights and take OT all weekend and only get one day off a week and blow it all on guns. I generally try to get 6-8 hours of sleep a day though. I like nights because there's less bullshit, I get paid more, and I don't have to get up at 5:00am to come to work. I made a promise to myself that I would not work a job that required me to get up before 7:00am.

I worked 17 years nights patrol and retired off nights. Some of those memes hit so close to home. Funny related comment is that we used to have a blast changing screen savers and wallpaper on the report writing computers until admin took that away after a non nude, non sexist or racist picture was used as wall paper. They wonder why morale was low.
