The other day, I walked out of Costco into the parking lot and as I walked up and down the aisles, got a sinking feeling because my Jeep wasn’t where I parked.
“Damn,” I thought. “Some bastidge stole my Jeep!” I pulled out my phone to call the police, but thought I’d stop, check my landmarks and reorient myself and locate the exact spot I parked. Costco has a good sized parking lot holding a lot of vehicles. I could not find my landmark. “What the-?” I turned full circle and my confusion grew because somehow, I was lost in the blasted grocery store parking lot!
When I looked at the storefront one more time, it became embarrassingly clear what happened. Upon exiting, I was distracted by my own thoughts and turned left instead of right. I was in the wrong half of the parking lot!

Had a somewhat similar experience recently... Couldn't find my car where I was sure I parked it. Reached into my pocket, figuring maybe I could use the fob to set off the alarm. Pulled out the key to Wife's car and realized I was looking at Wife's car about where I remember parking.
