As admirable as Glen Coffee is, that meme overstates things considerably: he quit the NFL after 1 year as a backup running back but didn't enlist in the Army for another 3 years. There he became a paratrooper assigned to work at the Ranger School boat house, but he never claimed to have gone through Ranger School and AFAIK never deployed.
Interestingly, in an interview midway through his enlistment he talked about initially lacking the endurance to become a Ranger because he'd somehow played high school, college, & NFL football without ever having run 1 mile.
