Good news is that Wife goes for the grits, so, WIN for me.
Grits are good at WH, but, I make good grits (and smoked Gouda/Gruyère braai pap) at home. I just can't seem to duplicate their hashbrowns... so..

No WH in Idaho. At least none I've encountered.

    I stand corrected...!

Should have said.... "Get at least one waffle for the table to share."

    Thank you.

I passed two Waffle House restaurants in my 15 minute drive to the gym this morning. If I had taken an alternate route home, same distance, I could have passed a third.

There's a Waffle House about a mile from my house. It was completed just before Hurricane Laura hit. The management managed to get a generator that could run the whole place and it stayed open the whole time. It was the only restaurant of any kind that was open for quite a while.

Q: What has eight breasts and six teeth?
A: The night shift at Waffle House...

FEMA uses the number of Waffle House closures to gauge the severity of hurricanes. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waffle_House_Index

"If you get there and the Waffle House is closed? That's really bad..."
    — Craig Fugate, Former Head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency

The index has three levels, based on the extent of operations and service at the restaurant following a storm:

GREEN: full menu – Restaurant has power and damage is minimal or absent.
YELLOW: limited menu – Power is either absent or delivered by a generator, or food supplies are running low.
RED: the restaurant is closed – Indicates severe damage or severe flooding; Severe destruction to the restaurant.

Waffle House understands DR/BCP better than most. That and community service...

It makes me feel good to eat there even if the place is a zoo (never an issue when I've been there though).
