    I’ve never seen that done with an auto before. I think the only place I’ve seen it was on a Colt SAA in an Elmer Keith book.

    The Bridgeport rig. I agree with gringop; there is NO WAY that should be mounted so that 1911 grip screw bushing threads will hold that much weight, and especially not be subject to the G force of an active human being.
