Places like 23 and me and other ancestry cites have given information to police. As far as I know LabCorp or your surgeon have not

Labcorp is regulated by medical rules about giving out your data that ancestry isn’t and did you know that Ancestry is now owned by Blackstone investments. DNA collection is a currently growing market. I would also assume that Ancestry is under fairly constant cyber threat/attack by either state actors like China or cyber criminals who are looking for third party buyers. Just like your bank card the more people who have it the more likely it is to be stolen.

My cousin and I used to be sent out by our grandmother in Brooklyn to those machines in the 60's, but I only remember them dispensing quarts.
