I haven't listened to any current rap, but this 50yo metalhead is starting to appreciate rap from the 80s and 90s. I particularly like a little Public Enemy, ODB, Beastie Boys, etc while working out at the gym. I didn't like it at the time, but it has a quality all its own and the energy is right for a heavy session of squats.

I'm typically country when the family is in the car. Less probability of questionable lyrics and content with the kids in the car.
On my own I've been on an XM Lithium grunge kick lately with an occasional foray into XM Turbo 90's and 2000's hard rock, particularly on the way to or at the gym.
From what I'm reading I can appreciate some "yacht rock" on occasions but those occasions are probably relaxing outdoors with the Mrs and a cocktail.
Ozzy's Boneyard, and whatever channel 41 is.
[turbo, I think.]
41's got good 90s angry music.
Channels 25,26.
And Y2Country.
