    That's what there were when I was a youngin'. 70's northern NJ.
    Jungle gym is what the rich kids had in their back yard.

    Yep, the same in 60s-70s Ohio. We had a set just like the one pictured at my grade school. If a kid fell and broke a bone or something, the response was along the lines of "eh, these things happen".

    No, no. You're right. Those are monkey bars.

    ...and this is a jungle gym. Playing on a jungle gym taught me to be aware of where my head was at all times.
