Edit: This was my life at my former agency when I was in a very interactive role with the public.
“Can you fax that to my attorney and cousin’s father-in-law’s best friend?”
Nope.

Our LE side was very fax-heavy but I never had an instance, in my field, where a fax was required by either the agency or the partner.
I would often mail stuff with a prepaid return envelope, which was always most time effective than a Faustian ceremony with the fax machine.
Sat AM I went to the propane store and bought a new 20 pound and had one of my forties refilled. Still using an Okidata dot matrix printer with two-part paper. I asked him if it is difficult to still get the printers, and he said people refurbish them, but they are not cheap. I asked him if there was some legal or regulatory reason they were still using them, and he simply replied "The owner is old."
