IIRC, they were marketed as a round to use your deer rifle for varmint hunting. The guy who ran the gun counter in the back of a hardware store I frequented during my misspent youth actually had some boxes in stock. While most people say they failed because they were expensive and inaccurate, I believe the core concept was flawed. Why would you want a cartridge that made is so you didn't need another gun?
