    Deer can not distinguish between red and green. If grandpa had hunted in a blue coat, then I would assume that he could very well sit down and be quiet. Especially if he didn't use the shower but after shave and sat on an unraised position from where the slight wind blew to the deer.

    Outside of the old world primates (us), female new world monkeys, birds, amphibs, some insects and reptiles - color vision sucks. Red/green is not a dimension they can see well. In fact, color vision faded in the mammalian world for awhile and re-evolved in the old world primates.
