You were obviously never a teenage boy. Only those of the mildest or an infirm constitution see such warnings an admonition to avoid risky behaviors.

You’re an aviation buff, I know you’ve seen the death traps men launched themselves into the sky on (often to their doom) on our quest for manned flight. If boys listened to their mothers and didn’t do stupid stuff we’d still be threshing wild grain with tree branches to get our food.

I was amazed when I went to my first federal academy by how many had never been punched in the face. I figure if a man makes it into adulthood without stitches or broken bones...something is amiss.

Ha! I had that conversation with a friend that teaches Krav. He said he's no longer surprised by the number of guys that cry the first time they get hit in the face, there are so many. I showed him my broken teeth.
