I know. My family had a Chevy Greenbriar van (Corvair engine) in the `60s. It had as much crash protection as a VW van.
A few years after we got it, there was a head-on crash one road over. A Ford van was one of the vehicles. To this day, I remember the moans of the driver as they worked to extricate him.
