I've never understood bagpipes at funerals. You feel bad enough for the situation, then you compound it by having to listen to bagpipes.

One of the more memorable funerals I did on honor guard involved bag pipes. The guy didn’t want it to be sad - I did too many of them that were really bad.
His will had us follow the bagpiper, who went full on into Thunderstruck. He was an electrician by trade after he got out of the Air Force.
