Both-ish. It kinda worked like the Centurion C4, attached to stock barrel nut, but you could leave the delta ring in place. Was free-floating, though. Was narrow side-to-side, but still kinda tall.
ETA: whoops, I was thinking of the OG Omega.
OG M4 rail had proprietary nut and a lock nut (similar to Larue).

Yep that second pic is the OG M4.
I’m curious to see a railed KMR from BCM. could be pretty narrow.
They have the BCM QRF. https://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-...uard-s/228.htm

Thanks, didn’t realize it was out. Still wider than the M4.
M4 was
2.43 tall, 1.94 wide, 1.45 ID

So my original plan was to use my Colt BCG from my unfired 6920.
ARay pointed out to me that Brownell's is running a 10% off and free shipping sale today (coupon code VB9) so I hopped on there and started pricing BCGs. I found this one:
https://www.brownells.com/rifle-part...rod105377.aspx
It has all the good features including a shot peened bolt and MP inspection. It's nitrided, but that doesn't bother me. It's also on sale and the 10% reduction will apply to the sale price.
Brownell's also makes a MILSPEC BCG:

As best I can tell, Brownell's is putting out good quality. Every picture I've seen of their BCG's shows proper staking on the gas key and according to their product descriptions they have all the same quality and durability features we typically look for in a quality BCG.
So I'm going to give the Brownell's unit a shot and see how it goes.

I have one of the milspec bcg's from Brownells and in comparing it to a bcg I have from Toolcraft I believe they are the same. Both were staked as well as any Colt or BCM bcg that I've used in the past. The Toolcraft probably has 3-4k rounds through it and the Brownells is around 1500 and neither have given me any problems.
Thanks, I ended up buying a Colt BCG to use. I bought a Brownell’s BCG as well and plan to keep it as a spare after I headspace it on both of my ARs and shoot a few rounds with it.
I also Installed some Centurion Handrails. I was surprised how light they are - the six panels only added a total of 2.35 ounces. Very easy to install and they would be easy to trim if I want them shorter. My rail is 1.85” wide with the handrails. Not sure if I will leave them on or not.

I recently picked up one of these URGs from Brownell's, installed a SOLGW BCG (verified correct head-space), and mounted it atop a (previously acquired) LMT Defender lower with carbine receiver extension.
I've fired ~100 rnds through the above combo to date. Accuracy seems fair (USO 1-4 LPV)...1.5 - 3 MOA @ 100 yds, somewhat better with CBC Magtech 77gr (mk262 clone) than other ammo.
One thing that stood out though is that this upper will not cycle reliably with Asym Precision 55gr practice ammo, which is supposed to be loaded to somewhere between .223 and 5.56 pressure levels. I've used this ammo for ~5 years and have never experienced this issue with any other upper...the Asym is definitely hotter than low-pressure .223 (e.g. American Eagle 55gr). The lower has an H-buffer and stock LMT spring. Ejection is consistent at 3-to-4-oclock, but I've had several jams where the bolt failed to completely strip the subsequent round, and the bolt will not lock back after the last round in the mag.
Looking for input from anyone who might have experienced this with the CCU upper or with expertise on these matters.
Thanks.
