Literally just upgraded to this guy (bought at Lowe’s with military discount this morning) since my beloved Fiskars X27 ain’t cutting it on some of these big rounds. I’ll be testing it out this morning, but I expect it will perform well. I want to buy fancy axes and mauls, but Fiskars works so well and has that great warranty. I’ll get some glamor shots with my new rifle

When my X27 won't get the job done I just noodle them down to size with the saw

Wish I could offer personal experience but 95% of my saw time is in Stihls. I do view Husky and Stihl pretty equal, Huskys run $100 to $150 cheaper in the pro model saws like you are looking at. I see a good about of fallers and other pros running Husky.

You are getting into a size of saw that will rip in stock form and can run a long bar, West Coast style. It’s about standing up more and reaching farther more than just long bar for the sake of long bar.

I might run a 462, as she will have same displacement and be two pounds lighter. But you’re in the electronic carb world then.

Right now my 461 is sweet but in 5 or 10 years I’ll want something lighter.

There’s a 576XP CM (?, whatever the designation is for the autotune) at AS with Hyway top end kit, ported and muffler modded for $550 shipped, he posted the compression reading, it’s above 150.

Thanks to @Cookie Monster for the new dogs for my Stihl. Cut up some downed trees at a friends place today. Getting a little better at hand filling, but always room to improve.

In the spirit of @Cookie Monster’s generosity, my new saw doesn’t fit in the case I bought for my Husky. It is the one below and comes with a 20” scabbard. If there is a site supporter following this thread that could use this case, I’ll ship it to you. First to post in the thread gets it. I’ll PM the taker for details.

Oh crap. I thought I was already setup as recurring. Did my renewal fail last go round? Feeling a little dumb...
