I wouldn't be nearly as precise or accurate a shot as I am now (which really isn't very) if I didn't do half the dry fire practice that I've done so far. General dry practice has also gotten me to the point where I can intuitively handle my guns administratively to the point where I could be told to do it blind-folded. Sure, if you're practicing wrong, then you're going to get incorrect results. However, if you're practicing it correctly, and you can get a bunch of dry/dry fire practice in, you're going to be that much further ahead of the curve.

It'd be nice if I got paid to shoot guns for a living, but I don't. Given that I have a finite amount of funds that I can invest into ammo as well as other things that are important in my day to day life, I'll continue to do correct dry/dry-fire practice when time permits.

And to think I've been doing it wrong all this time.

When everything you teach is proven wrong, and none of it used by anyone serious and you have zero street cred.....coming up with stupid stuff is pretty par for the course to feed your Facebook fan club.
Just a Hairy Special Snowflake supply clerk with no field experience, shooting an Asymetric carbine as a Try Hard. Snarky and easily butt hurt. Favorite animal is the Cape Buffalo....likely indicative of a personality disorder.

It's a known fact, BTW, that once you start a dry-fire practice regime, ninjas will show up and block all your attempts to live-fire at the range.

All this from a guy who can't shoot a respectable FAST drill. I guess the regimen of non- dry practice, coupled with running your spare mag bass ackwards, will pay dividends during real gunfights.

Is there anything in particular that people do not like about what Rob Pincus? There seems to be a lot of animosity in general on the internet, but never figured out specifically why.

With regards to his comments on dry fire, I don't get it. He's basically arguing that lower volume of good quality reps trump volume of of bad quality reps.... but wouldn't correct dry fire give you higher volume of quality reps?

Also why does he run his mags backwards? I've only seen people do that with AR mags.
