Thread: Vehicle camera / Dashboard camera recorders

I had to pull video from my wife's g1w last night and it was good, even for unlit midnight recording.

My edge z3 is fantastic. Really happy with it.

    Yes.

It's my fourth DVR, also most expensive, very happy with the setup.

Any pro tips for installing with power connected via vehicle wiring (maybe via a powered rear view mirror or.....), rather than an unsightly annoying wire to the 12v outlet?

I push the wire into the headboard/cloth seems with a key. I follow it around to the powered outlet and ziptie the wire under the dash to be out of feet range.

On my car, I bought a Chinesium 12v -> USB power module (like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Converter-Mod...dp/B00BMIVFK8/). I found a 12v wire in my overhead driver's info console, tapped into that and a ground, and tucked it inside the housing. I had bought a 2nd housing from a junkyard in case I had to drill a hole for the cable, but it tucked neatly between the bezel and the headliner.
