    Abe Vigoda, Det. Fish on TV's 'Barney Miller,' Dies at 94

    The actor's daughter, Carol Vigoda Fuchs, confirmed the passing to The Associated Press, saying that Vigoda died on Tuesday morning at home in New Jersey.
    Hate to bother the Mods, but can someone fix the title as I'm apparently lysdexic today.

    Good for him. Sounds like he led a full, generally happy life, and a lot of people have good memories associated with him. I can only hope people will say the same about me someday.

    20 years ago I ran into him at a local restaurant. No one would believe he was an actor.
    The owner of the restaurant assured me "He is not famous, he is just some old guy who comes in here regularly."
    I spoke to him for about 10 minutes. I was the only one who recognized him.

    I wish I had met him. Barney Miller is my favorite police show. RIP Abe Vigoda.

    Any man that can inspire lyrics from the Beastie Boys (in a favorable way) is OK in my book. RIP.
