Looking to carry a less lethal option at home (dog walking, mainly) on the road (in the truck, or filling up at a filling ststion) or outdoors (RV, camping).

Never owned pepper spray before, but after looking at reviews, this Sabre Red "3 in 1" spray appears to be what I am looking for. I need it to be effective against two legged and four legged critters, be easy for either me or my wife to deploy, and not injure me in the process.

I'm guessing some here are knowledgeable about this stuff, so need you guys to tell me if this is any good, or just a waste of money, and I ought to be buying something else.

    Thanks!

Anybody seen Chuck, DB or Wayne?

Hopefully he or another SME will be along shortly Rich as he weighed in (w/ Sabre red) when I added OC to my EDC.

    I don't trust OC.

But if you have to get the same as your local LEO's use for duty work.

I've seen OC fail less then Tasers but no one wants to use it. It's the gift that keeps giving. I love the stuff but in my former life I was a chemical agent instructor. For us it's right above verbal commands/ limited hands in our force continuum.

I'd go with Sabre Red rather than the 3 in 1. The CS won't bother dogs and I've never seen a suspect identified with the UV marker.

I like flip top caps. The one you're looking at requires you to slide a tab over to access the button. Less intuitive for me.

I'm not LE but this is what I carry.

Rich it seems Coyotesfan97 gave you some solid advice IMO but I also emailed Chuck a link to this thread, can't hurt anything.

Here's an older thread with good spray discussion from Chuck and others.

Down the road from Quantrill's big raid.
It's decent OC but not my first choice of either formula or launcher.

I also prefer the Saber Red to the formulas with CS added. IMHO CS brings nothing to the table. I also prefer the flip top type sprayers. Or the Spitfire.

For the record, I really like OC as a use of force option, and I've found it to be very effective in hundreds of uses on the street.

Claude Werner recommends the Sabre Red Spitfire. Been meaning to pick up a couple. Thanks for the reminder.

Finally getting a chance to order a spray.

    Likely going with this:

Sabre Red, flip top, stream spray.
