I just wish they'd make some 28" inseam pants. I have to hem everything from them. I sometimes get a little irritated when I look at the amount of fabric I cut off when hemming...

And the articulated knees usually aren't right...

For non cargo pants I wear Duluthflex slim fit 5 pocket pants almost everyday. They have deep pockets and give in the right places. Fit without being skinny jeans. Also tough as nails.

I’ve also been wearing a pair of 5 pocket pants from Dearborn Denim. I like them almost as well but they have less flex and not as heavy. I snagged a small spot on my hip the second time a wore them. They also shrunk more than the Duluth. In fairness the direction say to dry them on low heat or not at all.

I'd prefer something with slit pockets instead for my particular need, but otherwise those look good.

might try these but I'm concerned they're going to be too "starchy"

maybe these are the non-starchy option

Those GoRuck pants (Made in the USA) look to be paying homage to the First Ascent Eddie Bauer Guide Pro Pants/Guide Pro Slim Pants

Country of origin on the sets I have is Sri Lanka. The quasi automated Customer service line at Eddie Bauer today could nor provide country of origin info immediately and will be emailing the information.

I avoid that starchy feeling with such pants by washing them inside out in cold water and either line drying or drying low and slow. Then, I iron (flat or creased) with a steam iron, no starch at all and move on.

Most of the time, for me, the 98% cotton 2 % spandex blend feels better on, has better "hand" and looks better, to me, than a typically 60 ish cotton/40% poly blend.

I admit that I have seen the DTC pants but I do not own them. Both are priced well and at least for the first year, can be easily returned, even if worn, for a full refund.

I've had at least 4 pairs of the Eddie Bauer Guide Pro Pants and the problem with all of them has always been the seams. They simply come apart, for me especially at the front and rear pockets. Lots of reviews on their website also mention this. It's unfortunate because they are a nice lightweight 'athletic' option for hiking and such.

For this price ordered some. Giving them a try, working in the backyard so dirty by lunchtime wife will not let me in the house.

That looks to be a very solid choice and far exceeding the intersection of quality/performance/value.

I suspect you could no better price wise/feature set absent stumbling into something second hand.
