I'll be seeing it because Michael Bay can put together an amazing movie when he's not on a CGI high ('The Rock' is still my favorite popcorn action flick). I do recall Sean saying the story, as represented in the book, was not accurate.

Saw it last night. I feel for Sean Smiths mom as it seems she is truly devastated (which is normal) and simply needs someone to look her the eye and tell her what really happened and why her son died......and instead, she is ignored and then when someone does talk to her they tell her utter b.s. lies. My mother always understood that I could get killed at work. She was from a family of cops. If that happened, and someone lied to her and ignored her efforts to know what happened....she would have been an angry lady full of raging emotion. Having had to deliver news of death to people, most simply want to know why....without being lied to. The lie compounds it hugely in these cases. Whether it is "it was a video" or "hands up, "don't shoot", it is the clinging to a lie that so badly hurts people who know the truth, or should at least hear the truth.
All of this comes down to issues of character, honor and ethics. Many put power, image, and money in front of those and is everything that is wrong with our world today.....and the Clinton's are the poster children for this.
Just a Hairy Special Snowflake supply clerk with no field experience, shooting an Asymetric carbine as a Try Hard. Snarky and easily butt hurt. Favorite animal is the Cape Buffalo....likely indicative of a personality disorder.

I'm not in a position to judge its authenticity, but I thought the book was pretty good and it's a quick read. Will probably see the movie with my wife.
I'm going to go see it because no one does war porn like Michael Bay.
The lead actors came on stage to wave and answer a few questions on Tuesday night, followed (in 3 cases) by the guys they played in the movie. More than once the actors commented that their biggest concern was getting it right, from an action and movement perspective, with the real guys looking over their shoulders. The actors also commented on the notable humility and "presence" of their real life counterparts.
Apparently "Bob" has not been seen by anyone since 13-Sept-12, but the woman that plays the CIA agent had good things to say about the folks she met from Langley.
SPOILER ALERT!!!!
After the movie Oz, Tanto and Tig took a bow to a standing ovation. We were introduced to them and their families before the movie, but I was not aware of the extent of Oz's injuries that day. His recovery is amazing. Apparently, SecDef re-enlisted (details sketchy there) him after the event so he could have access to medical support at Walter Reed.
A visibly emotional Tanto said (paraphrasing), "Please don't thank me if we meet on the street. I've been thanked enough. It's YOU who I should be thanking. You saved my life. When I got back I didn't want to live. All the love and support I've received since then has saved me and restored my faith in this country."
The crowd was deeply appreciative throughout the night. If you didn't make it, you missed a real treat.
In addition to the free admission, we got free popcorn and sodas. That's like... a gazillion dollar premium at Jerry World.

As soon as I see it. I am going to see The Revenant first so it may be a little while. The book was interesting because they don't really talk about how using NVGs and a peq 15/16 changes things...Movie seems to at least show them using them. Most of the fighting (at least from what the book depicts) was at night so I am kind of excited to see that.
