When these debuted, I thought "Wow, if these work, they'd be the berries for motorcycle cops who are issued Glocks!" (Talk about your niche market...)

Of course, Kel-Tec being Kel-Tec, they don't work all that well. I mean, don't get me wrong, they're probably the most reliable guns Kel-Tec makes right out of the box, but that's definitely being the tallest midget at the State Fair...

Necroing this since I have something to add.

Since dad gave me an "extended loan" on his sub 2000, I have become fairly fond of it.

Downsides: - terrible sights. Friends of mine with better eyes than mine can do accurate work with them, but not me.
    - difficult to get a good cheek wield on
    - moves all over the place during firing

    Upsides: -100% failure free function
    -Glock mags, of course

I ripped off the factory sights and put on a 1989 red dot. This has turned it into the first gun I can actually shoot accurately with both eyes open. My dad put a sleeve on the gun that makes a decent cheek wield much easier, but I'd like to find something more substantial. It's now one of my "go to" home guns, along with the rest of my infamous "ghetto gun" collection. I guess now is as good a time as any to repost some pics once limited to paying members' eyes....Name: IMG_20180816_222317958.jpg

I am considering some mods to reduce the recoil/"shimmy" of the gun-- a heavier bolt and/or charging handle, a buffer pad for the bolt, and perhaps a muzzle brake? But I feel like mods may hit the wall of diminishing returns fast. Maybe I should leave perfectly adequate alone, and save up for a Storm or 9mm AR. My only real issue is that my rate of accurate fire seems way lower than it should be with a 9mm carbine, but it is fine for defensive use.

If you're going to try to convince me Kel-Tec is always shit, it's an uphill battle, my EDC is a p32.

The second pic is the gun as I got it from my dad....too bad that modern red dot was a POS. I sacrificed folding for better sights. I wish Kel-Tec woukd make a non-folding version with shorter overall length. I ditched the butt pad my dad had on as well because I find the LOP pretty long without it.

Probably the best thing they ever made.

I really wish Ruger had ripped it off, instead of the P3AT, but good luck convincing people that you're just as well off shooting someone with 7.65 ball as you are with 9mm Corto FMJ.

Took a look at one that used 92 mags a couple of years ago, and was thiiiiissss close to buying it- and I noticed the front grip was split right up the front seam.
    Went with a Skorpion instead.

I like my SUB-2000... but MCarbo parts turned in from an airsoft/BB gun into an actual firearm.

Honestly, mostly all of their upgrades takes the SUB-2000 from cheap to somewhat quality. Sights too low, higher rear sight. Cheek-wield bothers you, tube cover (actually bought another company’s). Did all the trigger stuff, which is amazing compared from stock. Recoil impulse... which is more due to .40s using identical setup as a 9mm... I’ve picked up parts from there, other companies, and even Kel-Tec (brass bolt).

The only thing I haven’t put on mine is my SIG Romeo 5... as I’m waiting on their mount to be released. Then when I get to Maine, I’ll try out some 25 round ProMags. If they work, I’ll have the bodies plates to match my others (CCR’s CPII).

Budget has prevented any gun spending lately, but I have been looking at MCarbo. Glad to hear that you can really feel the difference after the mods. Which tube cover did you go with? Have you put a recoil buffer in?

Wait for a holiday sale... likely Presidents Day. You get good coupons through them.

I got the Tacticool cover. Was the only one available when I got one.

I do run their buffer, which does help. I also have the heavy brass bolt and Sumo charging handle. All together, it does a lot of justice for the .40 guns.

    Me too.

Of course 7.65 haters are just fighting evil, Tam.

If .45acp is capitalism, Jesus, democracy, manliness, man-stopping, and the heavenly light, .32acp is socialism, Satan, communism, totally ineffective, Joel Gray in "Cabaret," and outer darkness. Would anyone but commies make a .32acp subgun?

Which is why it's fine for this demimale schoolteacher.

Thanks for the instantaneous reply! I was wondering if boosting weight to both bolt and handle would still run OK. I will give it a shot in 9mm, hopefully it will still function flawlessly.
