Thread: Steiner/Laser Devices DBAL-PL

Interesting - seems Steiner has come out with a single laser version (it's a bit thinner) for those of use who don't need IR.

    Jody,
Any longer term follow up on the DBAL? Looking for at least a light, possible laser/light combo for full size home pistol. Also interested in the SBAL as don't need IR functions of DBAL. Really like that they mounted the laser midline and above the light. Should reduce POA/POI shifts and different distances from zero.

After over an hour of searching, I found exactly one off the shelf kydex holster for 9mm Glock plus DBAL-PL (right hand only), that you could actually order:

Steiner's own website shows a holster but no way to order it.

My searches turned up nothing. Has anyone used one of these or even seen one in person?

Strangely the light rating isn't listed, but on the non-laser version they claim 470 lumens.

It's a pretty small package if it does what it's advertised. I've been pleased with my CQBL-1, but I think I bought it before Steiner took over Laser Products (or whatever they were called).

Looking at the specs, I'd be leery of using them for a duty capacity, due to lack of environmental protection. IP54 is dust resistant and splash resistant; it cannot be submerged any and then be expected to work, unlike the SureFire X-series, Steiner SBAL-PL, or Streamlight TLR-1, which are IPX7, for the most part.

Damn. Thanks for the info. I don’t mind paying for quality and normally run SF lights. But the XH55 form factor isn’t getting me warm and fuzzy. And it has the flood beam. I like the Crimson Trace GJM is running but the white light is only 150 lumens or something. I guess I keep waiting. Lol!
