I ended up 14th in ESP, and also got this trophy for being the top gunwriter at the match, which is (to steal a line from Tam) a lot like being the tallest midget at the state fair.
    But you are!

Srsly, dude, congrats! Dinner's on me at the Broad Ripple Brew Pub when you're in town.
    Books. Bikes. Boomsticks.

I can explain it to you. I can’t understand it for you.

Having known a few gunwriters, I tend to think of you, Layne Simpson and Jim Carmichael as shooters who write. Big difference.

    And add my congratulations too.

I take that as a compliment, since that's how I think of myself as well.

I do remember a conversation with an unnamed gun manufacturer that I had about a T&E gun. I told them the number of rounds I planned on shooting through it and I thought the rep was going to have a heart attack. Apparently a writer shooting upwards of 2 or 3k out of a gun is weird.

People who have seen gunwriters shoot?

No one has ever seen a gunwriter shoot! They all have private ranges where they shoot their 25 yards groups in secret.

I knew it!! I've actually got a couple writers that live nearby and I never see them at the range. They must have their secret lair hidden somewhere. All kidding aside, congratulations. We need somebody from the media to give Yamil a run for his money. Apparently he's been practicing something other than taking pictures of hot women.

I commit gun prose and lots of people have seen me shoot.
Some have seen me shoot well and some...
The last match I shot the only gun I did well was my 1100.
It was the gun I had practiced the least with. (I guess I need shot and skeet choke on my pistol and AR too.)
