kimbers have more issues than time magazine.
Picked up this nice old Mossberg 835 today. Should make the perfect base for a project I have in mind.
Playing around with some parts I had.
18.5" 590a1 barrel
20" 500 barrel and tube.
So I freely admit that I have more modern shotguns that collect dust in a gun cabinet, that may be a better choice for HD. But the fact of the matter is that no shotgun has ever felt better to me in my hands than the old hump back Browning A5.
This old Belgian example was a gift from my bride, many years ago. I took it to the last SOF world shoot in 2000 (If I recall correctly).
These days it serves as a home defense tool.
There is something about the old A5 that is "Just Right" for me.
The A5 is one of the greatest! I works on tons of them & they just keep going!
LR,
More details please. Barrel length? Extended mag? Choke?
Does anyone work on them today?
It has been a long time since anything was done to this gun.
The funny thing is that a person who is member here now found this gun for my bride in the mid 90s.
The barrel is 22"s long. Cylinder bore. The extension is from (I think) a Benelli.
The friction rings are set up for moderate to heavy loads. It runs 2&3/4 buck and slug very well.
The one person who might work on them is a member here.
P. E. Kelly.
As far as I am concerned he is "Mr. Auto 5.".
