At this point, I'm convinced that you can never be as fast with a pressout as you can with indexing.
However, time and time again, I've found myself to get more reliable hits under pressure when using the pressout. I first observed this in Todd Green's Speed Kills class, and I observed it again at a recent STG course.
I will say that I moved away from a very precise, strict version of the pressout taught by Todd and have settled on a pressout more used by Craig.
Just do what you need to in order to get rounds on target quicker than the opposition. Pick your poison, and practice with it. I think the latter is more important than whether you choose the red pill or blue pill.
