So, I've been playing around with the idea of carrying a fixed blade in a pocket. With the right kind of knife and the right kind of pocket, it seems very doable.
The most convenient way to set this up for a decent draw, seems to me, would be to have a sheath with a wave-like feature built into it. You begin to draw the knife, the sheath snags onto the edge of the pocket, sheath stays in the pocket while the knife comes out. Problem is, aside from a few one-off customs, I haven't found anyone who makes a sheath like this. Have I missed something here? Does my idea suck in practice? Or what gives?
Another way is to secure a regular sheath to the pocket with a ripcord type setup. This works but lacks the convenience of the waved pocket sheath that could be simply slipped into a pocket.
