    Baby's first smithing tools

I'm looking to get some tools to start doing more of my maintenance work myself and currently don't have anything. Brownells has two toolkits specifically for my 92 that I wonder if they are worth the price versus getting individual tools myself.

080-920-000WB Beretta 92 Series Tool Kit, Complete w/Tool Box
    080-000-469WB Beretta 92/M9 Field Pack

    Any recommendations?

I would either get the individual tools or buy this kit as a starting base of tools and then add what I need as needed.

I pieced together a make shift kit from amazon. Works good for my needs. I do need a table vice and a parts kit for my new hk......

Damn, convenience is really expensive. I'd buy tools on an as-needed basis and save the coin.

Other than the bit for taking out the grip screws, you can probably find 95% of what you need at a hardware store for less than $30.00. You'll probably never need the grip bushing tools, the india stones, or the magazine pliers.

A pin punch set, a small dental pick, a magnetic bowl, a small flat bladed screwdriver, a piece of scrap 2x4 with a couple holes drilled into it as a armorers block, and a buddy to provide a third and fourth hand will cover most of what you need.

Here's the Beretta armorers block, it isn't hard to drill holes in a block of wood for the front and rear sight, and then a hole for the extractor pin/safeties.

Even if you don't habla, here's a pretty good on taking the Beretta apart and putting it back together. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAL64ygmGcA You probably won't ever need to take one completely apart, and it's not fun putting them back together. It's all the little springs that make it such a PITA, but it doesn't take much in the way of tools.

Luckily, I am a native spanish speaker so that video will be useful.

The key things I need to do is remove the extractor to clean underneath it, replace the firing pin return spring, extractor spring, trigger return spring and remove the right side safety lever.

    Dude... Seriously.

    Don't bother.

    Here's what you need:

    Dental Pick set: http://www.pjtool.com/dental-pick-se...FUc9gQodJFUMdw

Roll pin punch set from Wheeler (http://www.cabelas.com/product/WHEEL...3824773&rid=20)

(Beretta has many small roll pins.)

A sight pusher B&J P500(http://www.midwayusa.com/product/163...ear-sight-tool) or the MGW tool. (I think I saw you had one already)

If you were going to get into stoning the sear, maybe something like a Power custom rig.

You don't need much at all... Just replacement trigger springs and recoil springs.
