Feeler: Group buy on MSA Sordin Ear Pro

Folks, I am reaching out to a major US retailer of MSA Sordin ear protection products about a potential group buy.

While I await feedback from them, I would like to know if you are interested. The group buy would be for ear pro similar to the below, about $275 list price on Amazon:

    http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XJEGSJ6/...I1S74WB52S7VSA

If you are, please post "I'm in" to this thread, and add any questions or comments.

This may or may not work out with the retailer. This thread is just to gauge interest on p-f.com.

    Thanks!

Hi - I'm an avid amateur shooter located in Tampa FL.

I am active online in several firearm-related forums.

I am very interested in purchasing a new set of ear Pro this fall, and am leaning towards the MSA Sordin Supreme Pro model (black leather head band/green ear cups, w/gel cups.)

I was wondering, would [ company name ] be interested in supporting a group buy of that item, if I could identify a significant number of guaranteed potential buyers?

If so, what would be the minimum number of people for a group buy?

In that case, would you allow different ear pro models in the group buy, or would you restrict it to a specific model? (For example, the one above)

If this is of interest, I can be reached by return email, or, if easier to discuss by phone, I am at [ my phone number ]

    Thanks for considering my request.

    Very respectfully,

    Richard Jenkins

Will we get PF stickers to put on them?

I'd probably be in as well. The lady would like a pair for Yule, I'm sure.

Definitely need to arrange some P-F stickers. I know a gal that does good work.

I'd probably be in for a set depending on the models available.

    $300 for 19 dBA attenuation? I'll pass

I can get better attenuation (21 - 22 dB) in other, much less expensive, active headsets

It's not 19 dBA.... See the other thread. The other headsets aren't 21-22 either...

I don't need to look at any other thread. I know how to read manufacturer specs and I know exactly how these types of noise protection works.

Wait, you think the 82 dB figure is the noise attenuation? LOL.............

That's the clipping level for the amplifier. It means it clips off at any input above 82 dB for amplification purposes. The attenuation provided by the cups and seals is only 19 dB

And I can easily find other headsets like it that are tested to attenuate 20 22 dB, like this one from Howard Leight: http://www.howardleight.com/ear-muffs/impact-sport--2

That 3 dB increase in NRR is a 50% reduction in noise to your ears.

I've worn both Sordins and the HL-30s on an indoor range. As a matter of fact, I currently own a pair of the HLs linked to by the poster above.

And, if the price is right on this group buy, I will throw those Impact Sports into the trash can when my Sordins get here.

    I'm in.

I can explain it to you. I can’t understand it for you.

If this would be the Supreme Pro X, and at a price point I can be cool with adding a third pair, I'd be in.
You don't gotta love it. You just gotta do it.
