If LV has a sense of self-preservation, he'd stop being photographed with the FC boys.

Two years ago, I did the same with Weaponshield (not out of disgust, purely because it's what I had on hand). That worked until recently. Just lubed the same shitter door with Fireclean and...it's still squeaking.

The topic of Fireclean came up at the recent Vickers & Hackathorn 1911 Operators Class. I heard Larry say something to the effect that Fireclean was undeniably superior for preventing carbon buildup and useful in those areas prone to the buildup. I kept my nose out of it since Fireclean is known to be incompatible with petroleum based lubricants or pretty much anything else. I don't see how it can be used in one area in conjunction with anything else.

I think there was damage control being practiced in that response. When you have 40 guys in a hotel conference room breaking down 1911s and the subject of weapons lubrication comes up I really wish I had my personal Get Smart "Cone of Silence".

I use Weaponshield for door latches and have used it for my beard clippers

Yes, especially if in this context, "legal" = "dick"

I don't understand them one iota. A rational person would have let this die. But no, they keep kicking that particular anthill and, once more, everyone is posting and blogging about the allegations that FireClean is basically canola oil and that the owners of the company are acting like dickheads.

    I don't see how that's good for sales, but I don't have a MBA.

    So much of this.

How much money, angst and face could have been saved by a simple proving gesture instead of legal antics?

Don't think FC works, try a little sample on us. Maybe the prices are unreasonable, we are lowering rates on the most popular sizes! Dudes... You can't get a good non-toxic product without using veggie-goo! So of course there are similarities to other veggi-goos.

But, nope. Gotta fire up the sue button.

That was what I thought. There's a right way and a wrong way to handle things and I think this has been an exemplary situation of the wrong way. I just can't see an upside to suing & badmouthing a blogger. But, then again, I'm not in the business so what do I know. *shrugs*
