How long can I still edit a thread?

Say I just posted, but wanted to edit a comment or add something.

About how long do I have before the "edit post" goes away?

Reason for question is just for planning purposes, if I know I plan to edit a post (say, like, I can't spel ), it'd be good to know how much time I have to do so.

I totally get why posts are not editable after a certain time limit.

I updated my training thread (DEG - 13 Sept 2015 - HK VP9) and it looks like I messed up the pics...can it be opened back up so I can fix the pictures, or do you recommend I just generate a duplicate post with the pics corrected?
