What was the last TV Show or Movie you saw, and did you like it?

Anyone who has played the Fallout games is going to feel right at home and actually pleasantly surprised by the quality of the show (or that's been my experience two episodes in).

For those who aren't familiar: imagine Mad Max meets Star Wars, but instead of aliens, everything is mutated due to radiation left over from a nuclear war. It's quirky, over-the-top violent, and frequently funny. Great world building and they knocked the aesthetic out of the park.

Easy to recommend for those that love the games. For everyone else: worth a try if you can shift your brain into neutral and just go with it.

As someone who played the games they knocked it out of the park for the sets. The vaults are dead on. The settlements are dirtier then they are on the games. I’m on episode five. I’m taking my time and savoring it. There’s some small stuff to quibble but I’m saying 5/5. The dog is great!

Damn! I am thoroughly enjoying Southland! Reminiscent of The Shield on some levels. Good characters imho.

I'm 70 and remember the whole mess quite well.
Always hated hearing the EBS alerts. It wasn't just for severe weather and missing persons back then.

Never played the games but I enjoyed it. The constant visual puns and gags were amusing, as were Lucy's inappropriately unilateral attempts at living by the Golden Rule.
Walter Goggins was as excellent as always, especially in the flashbacks.
It rode a fine line between video gameplay logic and narrative logic.

I am a big fan of the Golden Rule and think if everyone was onboard it would solve most of the world's problems, but I must admit it would be quite a challenge in the apocalypse.

Makes you wonder what the hell he was thinking, at least half his audience probably more are Trump supporters. Another case of dancing monkey shooting themselves in the foot, his job is to increase ratings not drive people away.

But it made no difference to me, I watched the first season and thought it was ok. But stopped watching the second season after the first episode, didn’t care for the plot.

I don’t think this one has been mentioned before. A college friend recommended it to me a few months ago, but it was on some channel that we don’t have and my wife (the responsible one) put the kibosh on it. Now it’s on Prime, and we’re three episodes into the first of seven seasons. As the name suggests, it takes place in France so unless you’re fluent in French you have to be okay with English subtitles (which I don’t mind at all, I have the captioning on for most British shows and definitely any shows with Scottish or Irish characters).

Anyway, the first season begins in June 1940 with the German invasion, and so far it’s excellently done, extremely captivating, and some in the regular cast are top rate actors. Even though we know how things go in the near and longer term, it’s very tense and my wife and I both find ourselves a little bit drained after each episode.

Again, only three episodes in, but I suspect there are a lot of people here who would like it.

We just finished season 5 of 7 last night, which brought us to late 1944. Was very pleased to see the Americans pushed the Germans out. But seriously, I can’t say enough about this show. It’s so well done and well acted, I’d put it in my top 5. Well worth the cost of the MHz subscription for a few months. We have a bunch of streaming subscriptions already and in general my wife refuses to pay for any others, or expresses her, um, disappointment, if I do it on the sly. It tells you something that she’s perfectly fine with this one.
