OMG!!!!! The STUPID is strong with this one.

I've always been a Bruce Willis fan, but his disease must have been advanced as he tried to make this. I've seen kids in high school plays give better performances. And the idiocy of the action doesn't help. Two bad cops chasing a hot babe in a deserted ER. How many times did one of the characters have the drop on somebody and DIDN'T shoot????? I guess they were trying to increase suspense, but it just looked stupid. Like the "victim" just had a death wish. I'm screaming at the screen, "Just curl the booger hook and put an end to it!"

This falls into the "so bad it's good" territory. I advise watching it for the same reason I'd recommend "Mannos" or "Plan-9."

I've been watching State Plate on Tubi. A singer, Taylor Hicks, goes to a state and scopes out and eats the local cuisine. Some of the items, I think are a bit forced as compared to true regional items but it's a pleasant show.

About not pulling the trigger - I say that all the time, such that my dear one has to say: Enough with that. It's a show.

The Law and Orders were prime example of such.

Quarterback (Netflix) - A series that follows Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, and Marcus Mariota around for the 2022 NFL season. I care nothing for sportsball, but I'm actually enjoying it. Always interesting to hear elite performers talk about their craft, and the show spends a lot of time on their preparation, physical and especially mental. All three seem to be decent guys and all three have young kids, so you get to see some of that balancing act too.

Worth a spin, even if football's not your thing.

OK, It's got Gal Godat, so, there's that.
This thing is SO over the top. But it knows it is so that it's not stupid so much as "artistic." Action scenes drag on forever. There is the obligatory falling from an aircraft without a parachute while trying to catch one of the bad guys who does have one. I didn't time it, but I wouldn't be surprised to find it was 5 minutes or more.
I know that Ms Gadot was in the Israeli Defense force, so she's a real life bad @$$. But nobody could pull off the physical stunts this thing is filled with.
Too unrealistic to be truly dramatic, but it was kind-a fun.
    And Gal Gadot ...

Some of the old westerns from the 40's,50's and 60's are like that. I'm not a yuge fan of John Wayne but there was enough money and excellent directing behind some of the movies he stared in they became classics. John Ford had a lot to do with that. He put Wayne on the A list. They made 14 movies together and all are classics.

I don't watch anything that has been made in the last 20 years. Just not enough of a movie junkie to get excited about it. I'd sooner pay the 5 bucks and watch a classic at home. Or read a good book.

Favorite movie has to be Unforgiven. There's a lot more going there than meets the eye the first time you watch it. Almost a correlation of todays society and the western frontier. Not all of the good guys are bad and Little Bill Daggett, well he died in a gun fight. But the fictional Munny moved to CA and started a new life not unlike Wyatt Earp.

Just watched the 1996 production of Hamlet with Kenneth Branagh and Kate Winslet on Amazon Prime.

Been a while since I had watched something “serious”; that definitely took some focus. Was happy to have subtitles on some scenes.

Surprisingly, my favorite character was Billy Crystal as the first gravedigger. I had no idea he was even in the cast. Actually not so surprising; I always liked that scene.

It's a Tom Hanks movie, where Hanks is the captain of a Fletcher-class destroyer leading his destroyer squadron on a convoy escort mission through the "Black Pit" of the North Atlantic during WW2.

    Fantastic.

I honestly can't believe the movie hasn't been talked about more here...I did a search but couldn't find such, at least. The visuals are great, the acting is great, and it has a very tense feel throughout the movie similar to Dunkirk.

It was a little short, almost as if they cut out 1/3rd of the movie. Could've been very much like Saving Private Ryan with character development, but eschewed all of that. There was literally only a couple minutes of story before they went right into the convoy, and the only character development going on was the Captain's burden of command.

Anywho, here's the trailer to give you an idea what you're missing. The trailer kind of sucks and doesn't catch the tension, but I don't want to post the shorts from YouTube and spoil the movie for you. Anyone with an interest in WW2 or maritime affairs are really missing out. Hell, every American, Canadian, and Brit owes it to their forefathers to watch this and understand the sheer terror and helplessness that characterized the Battle of the Atlantic.

Definitely worth a watch. I subscribed to Apple TV just to watch this when it came out.

I remember some buzz about it in this very thread when it came out. I added it to my "movies to check out later" list as a result of the positive reviews on this thread.

    Cocaine Bear

    Cocaine Bear.

I will admit I literally laughed out loud more than a few times and may have said a few WTFs..

It is not a high brow movie by any means but good for some laughs.
