Just got done watching season 1 of "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency" on BBC America. It's based on the novels by Douglas Adams. (Yes, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Douglas Adams, different series.) While the title character isn't quite what I was expecting based on having read some of the books, and there were NUMEROUS gunhandling issues, gun-related continuity errors, and a less than intelligent portrayal of the military, it drew me in anyway. It made a nod or two to the novels along the way (rhino), and ranks pretty high up there on the absurdity scale, in some ways surpassing Dr. Who in that regard. All in all, entertaining, and when the second season shows up, I'll probably watch it just to see where the weirdness goes. Season one is only 8 episodes, so it's not a big time investment. If you're into TV and/or movies that make you go "WTF did I just watch," you'll probably like it.
Absurdness? From a Doug Adams series? Say it isn't so!
I hope this is available on Amazon Prime. I'd like to check it out. Dirk Gently is my favorite Douglas Adams character
ETA: Just checked. It's on Amazon video. The stars are properly aligned today!

Watching The Expanse from SYFY on Amazon right now. Interesting story line and pretty well made as far as effects and such. Definitely not GOT production values but not bad for a SYFY network series.
