Thread: What was the last TV Show or Movie you saw, and did you like it?

I've stayed away from the zombie alpaca-lips movies because I just don't have the time. Spinning through channels this morning I ended up on "Fear The Walking Dead" just as a guy smokes an infected with an over/under and saves this guy 'Manawa' who promptly starts emoting "YOU KNOW HOW I FEEL ABOUT GUNS!" to his wife/GF.

I'm probably down for the series -till it ends or "Manawa" gets eaten.

Watched Range 15 last night with some buds. Much better than I expected. Lots of references to some classic war films.

Wife and I watched "13 Hours" on DVD last night. Enjoyed it. Really made an impression on my wife about the lack of support. She is a former Army wife and she is fully invested into the "leave no man behind" mantra.

If we have to march off into the next world, let us walk there on the bodies of our enemies.

Don't ya hate it when you discover a new show, get hooked, and discover that, not only is it not new, but it was cancelled several years ago?

Nice Guys had some good lines and action, and it was fun, with a goofy story (which revolves around the murder of a Porn star, so it's not safe for kids). Don't watch the trailer beforehand; it will spoil some of the best laughs. Also, Jad, a much older Kim Bassinger is in it. And a much older Russell Crowe (so it's sort of like a 70's LA confidential, though with a silly story).

For a good "safe for kids" movie, I thought the Peanuts movie was fun and well done..

Just got done watching the portion of Strike Back that's available on Amazon Prime (Seasons 1-3). Goofiness is right. IMO the show is deeply flawed and full of weird "issues." The basic plotlines were compelling enough to keep me watching, but the acting was of mixed quality, and there are only so many implausible sex scenes you can throw into an action/drama series before I start rolling my eyes at them. It started to feel like Cinemax was trying to live up to the old joke "Skinemax." Lots of continuity errors around weapons, too; there are several scenes where main characters randomly switch from ARs to VZ-58s or vice versa mid-scene, or a character that is using an AR throws a spare mag to one using a VZ-58 as though they'd be interchangeable. If in need of an action fix, it might be worth watching, but it's a show that's not nearly as good as it could have been.

What was the last TV Show or Movie you saw, and did you like it?

    From the Redbox:

    "The Man Who Knew Infinity".

Good flick for math nerds, this is the true story of Srinivasa Ramanujan, an Indian from Madras, who was such a genius at numbers in 1913, he was invited to study at Trinity College with GH Hardy. He later became a Royal Fellow.

    3 of 5; I enjoyed it.

"The Duel", with Woody Harrelson. It kind of plods along to the inevitable finish. It was ok, I guess. Nothing special, really, stood out.

    1 1/2 out of 5.

Saw Hands of Stone yesterday, just another boxing flick. Move along, nothing to see here.

Watched "No Country for Old Men" last night on Netflix. Great movie. I watched it a few years ago and enjoyed it again last night.
